Put on your hiking boots and learn about the local history near Hou.
The 10 km hiking route begins in the centre of the seaport village of Hou. It follows the coast to the north to Hølken. The route passes through the medieval ruins of Bjørnkær which is one of the best preserved mounds in the area around Aarhus.
Along the path, you can scan qr-codes and listen to stories about e.g. the first fisherman of Hou, the Hou thorn, the mounds of Bjørnkær and Gersdorffslund Manor.
850 metres of the path has a special type of pavement that is suitable for wheelchair users.
At Hølken Beach there is a barbecue hut / shelter that anyone can use. The shelter can be booked at book i naturen.
Along the route there are several tables and benches where you can rest. You can install a qr-scanner on your smartphone free of charge from App Store or Google Play Store.
